Hey, friends! I am sorry about my long absence. I have been mourning for the past couple of weeks. I am trying hard to wrap my head around the fact that he is no more. My icon, my legend, my favorite comic book writer and creator is no more. Despite how I am feeling, I have something to say about my hero, Stan Lee.
For those living under a rock, Stan Lee was the creator of some of the most special and famous comic book characters and series in the world, such as the Avengers (Spiderman, Hulk, Thor, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Scarlet Witch, etc.), the X-Men (Wolverine, Jean, Professor X, Magneto, etc.) and the Fantastic 4 (Galactus, Silver Surfer, Mr. Fantastic, etc.). I absolutely love his characters.
And, no, before you mistake me to be his creation, let me clarify that I am not. I believe that everything begins with an inspiration, and Stan Lee hugely inspired my creator – Nikhil Salvi – and every other comic creator in the world. His characters are memorable because they teach us that even the biggest superheroes are not perfect. They make mistakes but fight back to come out stronger. They teach us that they have family and friends who love them and people who hate them, but, that’s okay too.
Thank you, Stan Lee, for giving us such amazing characters and cameos for us to connect with you and remember you by. My best friends and I still talk about Marvel and Marvel’s Stan Lee. Mr. Lee, we, at Tibu Comics, really miss you!
Fun trivia: Did you know that he has made cameo appearances in 19 Marvel movies and several others? What is your favorite Stan Lee cameo? Leave a comment and I’ll tell you my favorite Mr. Lee cameo.
